Fabulous Day
After last night being so fantastically crappy, I expected my party plans for tonight to be shot. I didn't know how to process all that needed to be done and still be ready for people to come over, but my wonderful husband took all my pressure away. Knowing how important this party was for me and also showing that he felt it was important too, he told me last night not to worry about anything but my party and he would tackle moving tons of things out of our house and then packing it out of sight in our apartment. I filled up inside with gratitude and appreciation for how sensitive he is to my needs. I hadn't asked him to spearhead moving vast amounts of stuff, and I especially didn't expect to be completely off the hook packing and moving. He said and did exactly what I needed to make my day, no weekend, not suffer from the obnoxious events out to ruin it. I'm sitting here tonight happy that I could see my friends, not stressed about moving more things, and truly honored that my husband knows me so well and chooses to serve me so well........but we all know that he is amazing, right. :-)
And special thanks to Dad and Jason for dropping everything they had going on with little notice and coming to our aid. We couldn't have done it without you and your service.

new shorts
All by myself
Today David ate his entire ham and cheese sandwich for lunch. It was broken down into its ingredients and then each of those in peices. This isn't that shocking but usually I just make a normal sandwich and then hold it and have him take a bite. Since he's been really excited about using a fork for his dinner I wanted to set him up and see what happens. Usually he eats some of what's in front of him, throws a lot of it on the ground, then gets distracted and screams to be out of the highchair. Rarely can I set him in there and do other things, well I can but I can't trust that he'll eat enough to be full from lunch. So today he ate every peice of his sandwich and I think only one peice of cheese hit the ground and that was an accident. He has hit the stage where doing things on his own is very exciting and rewarding for him. I love to watch him learn.
Aunt Ashley
Yesterday aunt Ashley came over to visit David. Now that David has recently began to say MaMa, we've been pushing for other names. During the visit David kept saying "Lalee" along with lots of excited babble. When she was leaving we tried to get him to say Ashley and he just smirked. I pointed out that maybe Lalee meant Ashley but he's said Ahbudee since he could say anything and we have no definition for the word. It was a shot in the dark.
But now today when Ashley dropped Tyler off and we were all outside saying goodbye he said Lalee again when Ashley gave him to me and I almost didn't register it until I asked him, "Can you say 'Ashley'?" and David with a yearning look in his eyes for his aunt to come back and hold him said, "Lalee." It was soooo awesome! I know it was amazing for Ashley but Tyler and I are proud parents too. This is the very first name of anyone other than Daddy and MaMa. It really shows that Ashley makes so much time to be with him and I think him saying Lalee will make it even better for her.
Oh my gosh. I just asked him to say Ashley and he smiled and said Lalee. We went back and forth and he said it 5 or 6 times and now he's running to the door saying Lalee Lalee Lalee Lalee. Oh, he made it to the door and there is crying. He loves his auntie!

David's Friends
This is Puppy the First and Puppy the second. Puppy became David's Favorite right around the time that he started to play by himself. I tried to influence this because I t
hought that he had
a brown puppy stuffed animal that was cuter but he always
picked the blue one. It was a Carter's pull string toy and
when you pulled the string it played twinkle twinkle.
Each night we would pull the string when we put him in his bed and he'd snuggle close to it. Well, he quickly started to chew off the button-like nose and also the eyes. The whole snout became disgusting as shown. I had to throw it in the wash and when it came out the music box was dead. He still loved it. He eventually got one of the eyes off and I was afraid he was going to get the bigger nose off and it would go right down his throat in the middle of the night. I had been looking fruiously online, inspired by Leslie, for another one and no one had it. It had been a Target gift for my shower and it seemed Carter's no longer sold it. I took puppy away one night and the next day he was searching the ground and his bed whenever he wasn't distracted. We felt really bad for him but it wasn't safe. I planned on taking the nose off and sewing up the hole and then giving it back to him but I'm lazy.
About 3 weeks ago when David was really sick, I was on a trip to Walmart for medicine when I saw at the end of the isle my prayers answered. It was as if music began to play and light from Heaven shown down on it. There was Puppy the Second! Carter's came out with a new version of Puppy and the resemblence was uncanny. But would David notice? I had to take the chance. The thought of my sick little boy being comforted by his best friend warmed me. The awesome thing is Puppy the Second has a fabric stiched nose and eyes so no threat of choaking. YAY! And he plays the same song.
I brought it home and gave it to him right away while he was sitting on the couch staring at the TV. He reached immediately for it and held it close examining its eyes and nose. I think it took about an hour for the inspection to end and gain acceptance. Now its like Puppy was never gone. I am so happy and of course David too. I went back to Walmart to see if I could buy another one and store it for the next rotation but they didn't have any. I could go to another Walmart and probably find one but is that an okay thing? Let me know if you all think I should do that. Anyways, he has his friend back and we couldn't be happier.
Also, David's new thing is everything shoes. He is facinated by all shoes. He carries mine and Tyler's shoes around and then puts his feet in them and shuffles around the living room completing a remarkable amount of laps without twisting an ankle. With his shoes he either puts them on his hands and claps as shown, or he puts them on his hands and crawls around on his hands and knees with 4 feet as I call it. He giggles and enjoys it even when we are not looking so when Mommy and Daddy watch and play with him he is extatic. So my baby boy has a shoe fetish. I wonder if Grandma Cluff has more of an influence than I thought.

Update
Our family is doing great. We love our new home and our new ward. I've already made friends with a few of our neighbors. At the begining of this year Tyler recieved a raise and bonus for his wonderful performace as a software tester. He finished college in August of 2007 and is now working towards a position as a programer. David and I are proud of his dedication to his family that he shows through his job. He never misses a day of work unless he is laid up in his bed sick. He amazes me everyday.
I am enjoying my freedom as a stay at home mom. It's not free to do nothing all day like I sometimes want it to be, but I decide what needs to be done and what I can put off so I can do something fun. I don't always succeed with housework but hey, I'm my own boss so I'll let it slide.
Our dog, Bo, is very happy to be living with his family again. He is used to David now and puts up with a lot of wrestling. He even lets David play fetch with him. David loves him no matter what and Bo is his favorite entertainment along with watching Barney.
Our 4 year wedding anniversary is coming up on March 12th. We have nothing planned and I'll be suprised if we both remember the week of. It's not that it isn't important to us. We are just saving our money and spending it for anything not needed makes us uncomfortable. So if we went out and spent money on anniversary presents and a dinner we would feel awful the whole time. But, if we stay in and get cards for each other and watch a movie we would enjoy our night much more. For Valentine's Day we did special cards and it was the best gift I've had in a while.
That's it for now. :-)
David is Amazing
I know everyone believes his/her kid is the most special. Well, so do I. He first said Daddy, and we think he didn't really know what it meant at first. Well he deffinantely does now. If he hears the keys in the door he drops everything he is holdingand RUNS to the front door yelling, "Daddy, Daddy." He reaches and swings into his daddy's arms and if Tyler tries to put him down again he whines. He is a daddy's boy.
Around February, 4th he started saying "MaMa" refering to me. YAY! Now everytime he needs anything he asks for me. One night when he was sick and I was rocking him he said half asleep, "MaMa" and stroked my face.
He says "Alright", "Okay", and "Ah Bu Di" and the deffinition is still up for debate. He understands so much too. He knows: Socks, Shoes, Puppy, Doggy, Baby Pad, Drink, Bite, Snack, Go Bye Bye, Go Ny Ny, Go Play, No No, Thank You and I'm sure there are more. He gives real hugs and reaches with both hands to give you a love.
