The Day of 3 trips to Walmart

I love a good shopping trip like the rest of us but by my 3rd trip I was so sick of this parking lot. This morning I got up and went to the Walmart pharmacy and spent $60 hard earned cash for my prescriptions. We were waiting for our HSA account to be completed so that we could then use that money. So in the mean time I had to use our real money and then submit a claim to be reimbursed weeks later. blah! Then in the late afternoon Tyler and I found out that our account had been set up already and our current HSA cards were totally usable. UGH! I already spent $60 real dollars. So I went BACK to Walmart and went to customer service and they were able to give me back my money and then charge the Rx's to the HSA. Yay! Then I trucked back to the house to get ready for work and David ready to go to a sitter. Then at work my hair dryer broke. This is what allows me to take the frozen metal rings off the ice cream cakes. I couldn't do any work till I had a working one again so I got in the car and went to Safeway across the street. NO HAIR DRYERS. So, reluctantly I headed back to the same Walmart hoping no one recognized me from my earlier trips and picked up what I needed. Its been a long day and I don't want to drive anywhere for a long time.

Why can you be Pregnant AND Sick?

As most of you know I am pregnant right now, about 22 weeks, with a baby boy. We are naming him Jeremy Dale Daniel. I think God has played a trick on us women. Not only does our body go through changes to create the baby, also most of us get horribly sick. I have had my share of "morning" sickness. Now I am well past feeling nausea but have the very real possibility of having an ulcer. I mean, come on! Completely unrelated to being pregnant I have to get this now, which makes me throw up even more than in the first trimester. I miss food wanting to stay in my stomach. It's such a simple thing we take for granted. Eating. So I move forward, growing this guy inside of me. And despite it all, I am happy. I'm excited about this new little boy, about the change our life is going to have, about the love in our home, all while my head is in the toilet. I feel tricked but I am glad that happy hormones surge through pregnant women so we can overlook all the bad. I guess its a good plan. Thumbs up to my Father in Heaven.

Why were there Permanet Markers nearby???

So this is a picture of David cleaning up his mess. I had to take a shower this afternoon and he is too old now for me to take him with me. I usually let him stay in the living room to watch a movie and all goes well. Today I came out and sat on the couch and started talking on the phone. Slowly I began to smell permanent marker and wondered where on earth it was coming from. I mean, David has been mobile for 2 1/2 years now. I have moved everything that could possibly be in his reach that he shouldn't have....I guess not everything. I looked over at the computer desk and all over the screen and the desk was marker. Plus his shirt and face. He went straight to his room and I found a clue on the internet to clean the monitor with nail polish remover. So I got that clean and then calmed down a bit. I let David out of his room and made him start scrubbing the desk. I think it has come out as good as it is going to get. GRRRR!

Why I think Kitchen Nightmares Is The Best Show

I probably like the show so much because most of my working life has been in the food industry. Some people don't like the show because they get to see nasty conditions in a restaurant but not all the episodes are about dirty kitchens. Though, those ones make me laugh a lot that people actually think its ok to serve food with roaches living in the fridge door. So here are my reasons this show is so great.
  • Gordan is so blunt, mean, and the bleeped out swearing is hilarious to me.
  • He comes in and asks whats wrong with the restaurant, and no one says anything, and then he tries the food. Then he asks the owners to eat the food and they taste it for the first time! Its horrible. Its like, you idiot, you've never eaten your own food??!?
  • Most of the restaurants are owned by families and I love to watch everyone fight and yell at each other.
  • One time Gordan ate the food and then had to go throw up! haha
  • He seems to be the only person that believes and entire menu of Frozen Food is not ok.
  • One time Gordan watched a chef drop a frozen chicken wing on the floor and then he picked it up and put it in the frying oil.
  • ok, so a girlie reason I like it, is sometimes the restaurant gets a makeover and I get to see the new design.
  • Gordan usually re-does the menus and its cool to see a world renowned chef come up with great tasting dishes for a normal priced restaurant. Gives me hope for my own cooking.
  • Sometimes I cry when the restaurant has a successful new dinner service!

Cleaning House

So with deciding to stay in this apartment at least another year and with a new baby on its way, I have been feeling a HUGE urge to clean house. We have junk crammed in every closet and corner and I know that 90% of it we don't even need or remember we have. So with the normal parts of the house tidy right now I asked Tyler if maybe he could go through all his computer parts, wires, pieces, crap, etc.
(anyone that does not have a computer saavy husband you need to know that they collect computer parts like squirels collect nuts. You never know when you could need this cord, or this board might be good for something. It is ridiculous in some ways, but in others Tyler has been able to build someone in need an entire computer just from scraps he had lying around. )
I went to work like normal hoping that he could get some of it accomplished.
Well I got home and was so AMAZED!! He went through EVERYTHING and got rid of so much. He consolodated all the many piles of computer gear in different rooms and compacted it all in 1 tiny drawer unit. Then he cleared out our hall closet full of boxes and made a pile of stuff to donate and more throw away. I can actually put my vacuum away for the first time in 2 years! He moved his drawer unit to a better place and opened up the spot in our room that I wanted to put the pack n' play for the new baby and then set up the pack n' play! Sufficeth to say he crossed off half of my getting ready for baby list. I am so happy right now. I have a fabulous husband!
